The lawmaker representing Anambra North in the Senate, Senator Tony Nwoye, on Sunday commissioned various road projects he facilitated in the district as part of his constituency projects aimed at promoting development.

The newly commissioned roads include access roads in the Amaeze-Aguleri community in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, as well as an internal road at Blessed Maryland Estate, by Tobys Bus Stop, 3-3 Nkwelle-Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area.

The roads had been in deplorable condition for several years before their rehabilitation.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Igwe of Aguleri, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Michael Idigo (Ezeudo III), lauded the lawmaker for the projects.
“You don’t know how joyful we feel today, for my people have experienced hardship due to this road, I appreciate the Senator for remembering us”.

At Blessed Maryland Estate, residents who could not hide their excitement over the completion of the road showered praises on Senator Nwoye.

They said the project has helped boost business activities and nightlife in the estate, and commended the lawmaker for remembering their community.
“We are very very happy, I thank the Senator so much and I just wish other leaders will learn from him”.

In his remarks, Senator Nwoye described the commissioned roads, as well as others yet to be commissioned, as part of his vision for the development of every community in the Anambra North district.

Senator Nwoye, however, urged citizens to always hold their leaders at various levels accountable.
“It is my duty and obligation to ensure the people that voted into power get the benefit of having a representative, I am fulfilled seeing the happy about these projects and I promise to do more”.
