Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo stated this as he flagged off the second phase of the Youth Empowerment programme “One Youth Two Skills” at International Convention Centre, Awka.
Soludo said that one of the aim of the programme was to ensure that Anambra youths are empowered on a sustainable level.
While speaking at the programme, he commended the youths for being responsible, resorting to hard work as a solution to end bad governance than protesting.
Furthermore, he said that the programme was to transform Anambra State as the Largest skill Hub in Nigeria by equipping a significant percentage of the youths with employable and exportable skills.
While revealing that human capital is Anambra’s greatest resource, Mr Governor described the children and the youths as the bridge to the future saying that his administration will always prioritize human capital in building the future by creation of avenues for them to be economically productive and socially responsible.
He encouraged the successful candidates to train with seriousness and also reminded them that only the qualified trainees will be empowered.
He called on Ndi Anambra and friends of Anambra to partner with the state government in programmes like this to ensure that the mandate of giving value to the people is attained.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Aghamba thanked Mr Governor for his determination and passionate supports towards the youths and assured him that the second phase will attain a higher success rate.
